Where'd the hounds go?
A proper summation of the WOTLK release might be: "Well that was quick."
As evident in the PvE progression section, all Wrath content has been cleared by multiple guilds on both factions. The last remaining competition is who can down Mr. Sarthy with 3 Drakes. Beyond that, content is being plowed through, and we’re likely to revisit the unfortunate days of stagnation if Blizzard doesn’t start instating more instances that take more than a day to clear.
On a positive note, we've seen a flourish of guild activity on Thunderlord. Once a server lacking in meaningful progression with only a select few guilds, we now have several new guilds that are making meaningful steps in progression (albeit, easier progression).
Tomorrow I Really Quit, in fact, is a transfer to our server. They recently bested Heroic Malygos, the fourth Alliance guild to do so, following TMM, VV, and Tribute. I extend a re-welcoming to these fellows, as they not only managed a successful transfer, but remained solid enough to clear all available content.
The Mediocre Men,
Vires Veneratio, and
Tribute, have endured an absolute slugfest for #1. Thus far, TMM has claimed the throne of #1 by securing server-first kills of Kel’Thuzad, Malygos, and 2-Drake OS, in an upset defeat over the Sunwell favorite, VV, as well as dethroning Tribute, who began Wrath with Thunderlord’s first Sartharion kill.
Focus has taken the Horde reigns in Wrath, claiming the majority of the Horde firsts. However,
LiveToPug is still showing some life, taking over the Horde-first OS 2-Drake kill, placing them in running with the great Alliance triad.
We’ve also seen some new talent from
Nemesis, a Horde guild consisting of some prior L2P members, PvP addicts, and new faces. Even low-end content is showing some life, with the return of
Kokujin (The Fourth Coming) and the consistent late-night raiders over in
RedDragon.
“Easy” as the content has claimed to be, I for one am happy to see a release that has been less disastrous for guilds and has, at least temporarily, revitalized the server’s life. As usual: keep truckin’ guys.
