Gearing up for Sunwell
Some time ago World of Raids posted a
picture of Sunwell items that were thought fake, however
it seems now that the items weren't fakes afterall. I don't know about you, but that certainly helps to elevate my hype of Sunwell. A 500 +healing mace with a red socket, that item alone makes my mouth water (the two healing trinkets are pretty cool as well).
It also seems that there will be healthy number of guilds participating in the upcoming race for Kil'jaeden and these super items. As numerous people have said before me, Sunwell will be the place where the PvE history of The Burning Crusade will be written and finally decided. Whoever clears Sunwell first on a server has essentially won the PvE territory.
First of all, it's supposedly the most tough instance Blizzard has ever conjured, secondly Black Temple and Mount Hyjal was all a disappointment difficulty wise - well it didn't help on the difficulty of the encounters that they were all well documented at the time any of the TVC guilds came up against them.
That's precisely why Sunwell will be a major test for all guilds on TVC. It will by nature be a major test without written tactics for the bosses and thus, whoever wins, through first clears, will inevitably stand at the end of TBC as the top server guild.
For now it looks promising for the guild vs guild competition with so many guilds experiencing/progressing/farming Tier 6 bosses. I am personally looking very much forward to another exhilerating race to Kil'jaeden, and welcome all the competition we can possibly get on the Venture Co.
Latest Raiding News
On the raiding front it is looking better for the server than it has in a long time. Eight guilds are in the end-game instances of Mount Hyjal and Black Temple, with four of them having completed it. Compared to pre-TBC that's a major improvement numberwise.
However, not all are so fortunate to have a powerful and well organized guild to play in - or simply don't have the time to really invest what it takes to create such a guild from scratch. It isn't a dance on roses I can confirm that at least. However, even for you there's good news ahead.
Picking up on
Aerial Guild's initiative other guilds have begun planning for Public Raids to lower Tier instances (Tier 4+5) and the Public Program of Aerial Guild has already taken several people through mid-game raiding, and as late as yesterday attuned the first two non-guildies to Mount Hyjal. From the
huge interest in these raids it's safe to say there's plenty of opportunity for more players on the market.
There's several reasons why Public Raiding is a major boon to the server as a whole, I've listed a few in my frontpage blog on
aerialguild.com. My hope is more guilds will pick up on this and begin their own raids.
Legendaries...
The Venture Co is also now seeing the first few legendaries on the server popping up. Congratulations to Twilight Empire for a Phoenix mount, Aerial and YOGS for Legendary swords, and while it's not exactly legendary it is still not an easy thing to accomplish - YOGS for getting server first Bear mounts! Congratulations everyone!
