Dear players,

Have you ever dreamed about a realm with more space for your guild, a realm without queues where Alliance and Horde live a peaceful quiet life alongside eachother with little bickering and close to no drama. Then Runetotem might be what you're looking for.

As all realms we face the dreaded summertime where whitecolored nerds and lush ladies venture their first timid steps out in the open sunny world. Combine that with the atypical WoW player who loves things like football, drinks, olympics and you got yourself a hard time finding players.
We have the same issue, however we decided to put our hooves together and work towards one big solution: namely promoting our fantastic little realm.

On Runetotem there is still quite some place for the bigger progression guilds and for a plethora of individual players. We have a lot of guilds who are starting MH, BT and Sunwell, but also quite a few bands who frequently roam Karazhan, Gruul's Lair or the watery domains of Lady Vashj.

Now, why then would you say should you visit Runetotem with your old or a brand new character?

- Plenty of materials to farm and an economy that has room to grow
- Fantastic mature atmosphere. Each kill is lauded by most progression guilds and accompanied by nicely done killstories (For example: Brutallus down by PoC and This was no chicken )
- New players are welcomed with open arms
- We created our own self-managed realmforum with tons of subfora to accomodate our needs.
- Good progression and amazing teamwork, Runetotem was the 22th realm to finish the AQ War Effort and the 6th (!) EU realm on the Sunwell opening. We can work really good towards one common goal and help eachother out where needed.
- Only 6 guilds have killed bosses in Sunwell which means there really is a ton of space for big guilds to farm and progress to their heart’s delight.
- In terms of PvP Runetotem is part of the world’s best battlegroup: Cyclone. Runetotem was also chosen by a group of experts to be the most promising realm to roll Arena characters on. If you like arena, love a good fight and are not afraid of some healthy skilled competition, we’d be happy to make you feel welcome.

So, in short: I'm very proud of my realm, so proud I stand here today before you and hope to convince some of you to check out Runetotem. We thought long about this 'ad' and put a lot of effort in it to really be true about our advantages. Even if you don't like our friendly, organised approach and like to go your own way in WoW, I'm sure you'll come to like us and enjoy the Runetotem vibes!

See you on the other side and thanks for lending me your ear.

IRVINE, Calif. - November 20, 2008 - Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. today announced that World of Warcraft®'s second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King™, has sold more than 2.8 million copies in its first 24 hours of availability*, making it the fastest-selling PC game of all time. This eclipses the previous record of nearly 2.4 million copies sold in 24 hours, set in January 2007 by Blizzard's first World of Warcraft expansion, The Burning Crusade®. Wrath of the Lich King was simultaneously released in North America, Europe, Chile, Argentina, and Russia on November 13; Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand on November 14; and South Korea and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau on November 18.

In celebration of the launch, more than 15,000 stores throughout the world had their doors open at midnight to welcome thousands of expectant players. Several of these locations were attended by Blizzard Entertainment representatives, who met players and signed copies of the game.

"We're grateful for the incredible support that players around the world have continued to show for World of Warcraft," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “Wrath of the Lich King contains some of the best content we’ve created for the game so far, and we look forward to seeing even more players log in to experience it in the days ahead."

"After a single day of availability, Wrath of the Lich King is already the bestselling PC game of 2008 at GameStop and ranks as one of our top-selling products so far this year," said Bob McKenzie, GameStop’s senior vice president of merchandising. "In keeping with the tradition established by their previous releases, Blizzard Entertainment has again created a product that not only reflects their high standards of quality but is clearly an instant hit with gamers around the country."

Prior to the launch of Wrath of the Lich King, World of Warcraft’s subscriber population had grown to more than 11 million players, further strengthening its position as the world's most popular subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game.
