The Betrayer is dead! Were we to think this through RP wise, this would be the one time when the Cathedral of Light would make the coblestones of Stormwind reverberate with its massive bells in honor of the Horde, our Alliance leader de jure Jana would take a stroll on the east coast beach to meet and congratulate Thrall for his warriors' performance, Sylvanas Windrunner would make an incognito visit to personally "commend" their core and name them her new champions and Maiev would be overjoyed to perform her night elven /dance for the Almost Skilled boys. The Crusade pulled through on Frostwhisper.
Back in the World of RealityChecks... it is still a feat to take pride in! It is the first sign of vitality this realm shows in a long while. It is actually the first time since Solid slain C'Thun back in may last year when a group of players finishes the existing PvE content on Frostwhisper. It was also a last stand. No matter the fresh blood or transfers, at the beginning of the Crusade a small bad ass veteran core of the Horde unfolded their war banners and rallied the last old school troops around them. It was them who created the opportunities to further develop a healthy raid environment and this victory must be dedicated to them. The achievement lies truly in the fact that their project is viable, that they managed to use many old Frostwhisper raiders to their full potential once more - or for the first time - and that there's no portend of a grim future ahead for this gaming community at the moment despite the loss to other realms of their guild master, raid leader and a couple of other core members two weeks ago.
To round it up, if Frostwhisper slowly lost its breath through the whole of 2006 and seemed to dive deep in complacency in the first months of this year, it now has a chance to come back to life through Almost Skilled's tenacity. They are the only ones here to have caught up with the content while having trained a coherent raiding group for several months through the entire end-game. Blizzard's math told them that the normal raiding guilds should rep up the Black Temple sometime between 2.3 and 2.4. Almost Skilled is now in that small percent that gets to breathe and prepare ahead of time what is an already oiled raiding machine. They finally have the grounds to build on if their ambitions lay even higher than being Frostwhisper's Horde old school powerhouse once more.
On the whole, tonight Illidan lies dead and the Temple's halls are purged of all who crossed the Naaru; all the doors are unlocked and all the items available on Frostwhisper from this evening on. Congratulations to the ones that carved up this cozy top of the food chain spot for themselves in this realm's history.
