Quoting my own post on the Frostwhisper's official forums:

Oh, 3.2 upon us and I totally forgot to make the post I wanted to.

Here it goes. We abandoned Realmhistory even more than we thought we would in the past months, and we're not going to add the new content in. Multiple reasons, time being the most important one.

I've been told it would be nice to keep it only for Frostwhisper, but in my opinion, why kid ourselves; we are, along with other 95% of the realms, just an alting/rerolling realm, far away from the 10-12 healthy, well populated and well reputed european realms that actually form the raiding scene. Back in the day, the best guild on a realm was a lot slower, but could clear more or less the same content as the first 100 guilds world wide. With the changes we've seen, most top guilds across realms are just not fast enough to do the more complex encounters when significant nerfs hit from the very first month. My point is, even when I was taking a break from raiding myself, it was enjoyable somewhat to observe these PvE races; now these are no more, or the race is over content changed too much from its initial release on the very vast majority of realms. And so it is just not worth it for me. Realm History's idea was outdated from the moment it was launched; we thought about community run templates at the end of the 40 men raids era, when those guilds were everything and the interest in that community was totally different even from the first months of TBC, when the site took off. We never wanted to change it, but there's no point adding to it either.

I hope that, for as long as we kept it, it was useful (the data will still be kept by the way, the site does not go offline).

If we want someone to take over instead of relying on sites that introduce progress automatically, please, bear in mind that speed in updating is really appreciated. And be constant in updating. And add kill dates, not just the guilds in the order in which they completed the encounter. My personal opinion? Frostwhisper never used a stupid official forum thread, it was first on The Core's site, then on Solid's, and then on Realmhistory. Maybe one of the older, more proficient raiding guilds with a good site administrator would like to take over, would be for the best; the best designed and run site is Almost Skilled's in my opinion, so I'd hint... but that's just me.

I'll ask for unsticky for this thread, but if someone takes over, do post a link to Frostwhisper on RealmHistory, in case players want to glance over the WoW classic, the Burning Crusade and the start of Wrath of the Lich King eras.

Note: You'll receive a tip of the hat if you know where I took the truism in the title from.

Thanks for all the hard work you and FaithRaven put into the site. It's always been a pleasure to see everything you've ever written about Frostwhispers guilds and the realm itself.

Been a loyal viewer ever since the site was launched. So it saddens me to know that it won't be updated anymore, although I completely understand with all the achievement tracking progress-sites that are available now.

But once again, thanks for all the awesome job!
